Alex Ovechkin Out Vs. Devils

While Alex Ovechkin won't play tonight, it appears as though he will make his return to the lineup on Tuesday.

Tarik El-Bashir of the Washington Post is reporting that Alex Ovechkin is out tonight in New Jersey, meaning the Capitals superstar will miss his 6th consecutive game with an upper body injury.

Even without the presence of Ovechkin, Washington is currently riding a four game win streak.  However, his return to the lineup would have come at a good time had he been able to suit up because the team will be missing veteran forward Mike Knuble after he broke a finger during Friday night’s win over the Wild.

Cory Masisak reported moments later through his twitter account that it looks as though Ovechkin will make his return to the lineup on Tuesday when the Capitals head to Madison Square Garden to take on the Rangers.

DC Sports Dynasty Rankings – Nov.

1. D.C. United

- With 4 MLS Titles and 2 US Open Cup Titles, D.C. United is easily the most successful franchise in the area since it was established in 1995. They are now in search of a new coach to return them back to glory.

2. Washington Capitals

- They're coming off back-to-back Southeast Division Titles and with a core of young talented players, they are the franchise that is most likely to bring a championship and perhaps even a dynasty to the D.C. area. The big question is whether these young players want to be the best in the game, or whether they are more concerned about where they are going out after the game.

3. Washington Redskins

- If championships were determined by the amount of money spent on free agents, then the Redskins would have cases full of them. However, they're not and D.C.'s football franchise is the epitome of mediocrity. Too much talent to be bad, but not enough chemistry and depth to succeed. Until they hire a real general manager this team will go nowhere.

4. Washington Wizards

- The Wizards have only one championship in the history of their franchise. Actually they have none because they were the Bullets when they won theirs back in 1978. Their hopes for the 2009-10 season rest on the health of Gilbert Arenas. Cross your fingers.

5. Washington Nationals

- Why does D.C. have a baseball team again? Another poorly managed franchise, a non-existent fan base, and the worst record in the league put them last among D.C. sports teams.
